NEICY JOHNSON

President

Neicy Johnson is the founder and President of “Taking Our Lives Back of Michigan. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, she is a graduate of Mumford High School and has two children and a granddaughter. Neicy has over 25 years of experience as a Customer Service Operator for a publishing company, for whom she has worked on the fundraiser team for over 10 years and has personally spearheaded numerous events and fundraisers. 
Additionally, she has volunteered for various charities, including Habitat of America, the Life Remodeled Project, and the Oasis Men’s Shelter, and has distributed “blessing bags” to the homeless in Detroit, as well as served on the board for the organization called WROSES. She currently serves on the board of The Elite Women Organization as the Head of the Event Team. Her hobbies include dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
As a cancer survivor, she will celebrate 17 years of being cancer-free in October 2021, and through her organization, she creates calendars featuring women that are cancer survivors or are currently battling the disease.

TONI CLEAVES

Vice-President

Toni is the vice president of Taking Our Lives Back of Michigan.  She has been a part of our team for several months.   She works closely with the president and other staff members to provide operational oversite, as well as, support, and resources to our Michigan clients who are impacted by cancer.  She is very passionate about providing relief and comfort to our client’s lives.  Before this role, Toni served as a board member for the Francesca Fraser Sickle Cell Foundation of Michigan for several years.  She has over 20-years of honorable service with the United Armed Forces.  Serving two tours of combat service during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) after 911.  To her credit, she received numerous accolades for humanitarian and community support domestic and abroad.  She completed over 3-years of course work with Kaplan University in the areas of Human Resource Management and Health Care Management.  She also completed numerous certification programs over the years relating to Human Resources, Finance, Workman’s Compensations, Logistics, Leadership, Management, Combat Life Saver, First Aid, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), just to name a few.  She believes her training and skillset will help our organization yield positive results for our clients.  Her hope is that we inspire others to join us in our crusade to provide support to Michigan women and their families.  Along with the other organization members, Toni’s goal is to ease the minds of our clients so that they can take their lives back.

TRINA PERRYMAN

Secretary & Treasurer

Trina Perryman is the Secretary and Treasurer for TOLB. She has served the community through volunteering for the past 20yrs. Habitat for Humanity, Oasis men’s shelter, and passing out blessing bags to the homeless to name a few. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Siena Heights University in 2013. After caring for her special needs daughter for over 10yrs, she started ReeceWorld of Michigan. A 501C3 that serves the special needs community. Trina is currently an Author and Coach. She enjoys dancing, skating, traveling and spending time with loved ones during her free time.

DEMETRIA ANDERSON

Director of Committees

Demetria R. Anderson, Director of Committees for TOLB is a Graduate of Lewis College of Business. Over the years she has been active with many organizations resembling Taking Our Lives Back, which work to help patients that may require assistance. These experiences have given her deep appreciation for how nonprofits seek to help others in need.  Demetria works for Quicken Loans, which is company that thrives on giving back to the community. Her passion for service goes back 15+ years. She was born and raised in the City of Detroit, when she’s not at work or out doing community service you can find her enjoying her family and partaking in the many attractions in the city.
